Course Overview
New Entrant Oil Foundation Course (Oftec Oil Firing Heaters and Boilers – OFT50)
This OFTEC course is aimed at new entrants to the oil-fired heating industry. No previous experience of working with oil fired heating systems is required. All materials and equipment are provided. It is accepted as an entry programme for those engineers wishing to move onto the three main OFTEC oil assessments. This OFT50 oil firing introductory course fully satisfies OFTEC’s category 2 and 3 candidate entry requirements.
A set of OFTEC training manuals will be provided for candidates during this course, which they may want to keep for future use. There is no formal assessment at the end of this course, and upon successful completion of this course, candidates will be have the knowledge to be able to undertake the OFTEC assessments for OFT10-101 – domestic/light commercial pressure jet appliances, commissioning and servicing, 105E – domestic oil firing installations and energy conservation and 600A – domestic and non-domestic oil storage tanks and supply pipework installation.
This course is run over one week (5 days).
OFTEC Training and Assessment Package OFT10 - 101, 105E, 600A
This OFTEC course is aimed at those who have industry knowledge and experience, who are qualified gas engineers or who have completed the OFT 50 new entrant course. The package includes training and assessment on the 3 main OFTEC elements: OFT10-101 – domestic/light commercial pressure jet appliances, commissioning and servicing, 105E – domestic oil firing installations and energy conservation and 600A – domestic and non-domestic oil storage tanks and supply pipework installation.
OFTEC scheme rules and entry requirement apply to all bookings. Eligibility to undertake the course is checked at the time of application/reservation. All candidates must hold a CCN1 qualification, or demonstrate successful completion of the OFTEC Oil Firing Introductory course (OFT50).
These OFT10 courses are for category 1 & 2 only.
OFT10-101, 105E and 600A are available as a package or separately. All materials, tools and equipment are provided during the course. OFTEC training manuals are available to be purchased directly from the centre at a reduced cost, either separately or as a package.
